Easy Street Rides and Rods, LLC - Collector Cars

A $1-billion per annum sales market, the Collector Car industry is still very strong even under the current economic conditions...

Although, the banking crisis and tight lending climate that currently exists has had an impact on the lower end of the market, the high end premium collector cars are still selling strong and for good prices. Withstanding the worst weather in seven decades during this year’s Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale (AZ) (January, 2010) auction, the event reported record sales in excess of $68-million dollars for the 5-days. RM Auctioneer’s February 2010 sale in Kansas City, MO was a company record breaker as per official company reports.

The Collector Car industry, especially in the Midwest Region, is inundated with sole proprietorships consisting of one man garages that can perform one build per year maximum output. Due to the skill and capital intensive nature of the industry there are few new Collector Car building firms that enter the market each year. In addition, the shear vastness of the market, specialized custom nature of the products and services combined with the necessary skill-levels required of the builders prevents one or two large firms from dominating the industry.

Easy Street Rides and Rods has developed a unique niche skill set in the Collector Car industry award winning design/builds performed by nationally recognized artisans. These proprietary techniques have been developed and perfected over 40-years. Another niche skill set is buying quality “West Coast cars” (automobiles originating from CA, AZ, NV, UT, TX, NM) as the basis for its projects. The Company maintains a full-time buyer located in Phoenix, AZ who is constantly looking for good buys on “West Coast cars” that fit the Collector Car market. The Company has developed a niche in this industry by providing premium Collector Car projects by bringing rust free, West Coast automobiles and employing highly skilled and nationally recognized designers, builders and painters to build its projects. These cars are rust free and clean, which means that they require little body work. Bringing these cars to the Mid-West gives Easy Street a significant unique selling advantage over its regional competitors.

A third skill set that Easy Street Rides and Rods owns is the ability to form and fabricate complex sheet metal parts. Most customizers and restorers cannot form and fabricate the sheet metal on their projects. They are relegated to either not including complex sheet metal parts in their customized or restored car projects OR they must purchase these parts from other sources. Not only can Easy Street fabricate in house such parts from regular carbon steel auto sheet metal, but also, the Company can form and weld such parts from stainless steel, aluminum and titanium.

Other factors such as proximity to existing and potential customers, reputation of the designers and builders, quantity and type of equipment and size of facility play a major role in determining the number of companies that can compete for a particular customer or particular project. As a result, Easy Street Rides and Rods is one of only Midwestern companies who should be considered for really significant Collector Car projects.
